Is Profhilo treatment safe?
Profhilo treatment is considered safe when administered by a trained, qualified and experienced medical injector. It is formulated with 100% hyaluronic acid no added chemicals. It is FDA approved too.
Does Profhilo treatment hurt?
Profhilo is an injectable treatment and can therefore be a little uncomfortable upon application. Therefore, numbing cream is applied prior to the treatment to minimise any sensitivity.
Are there any side effects or risks with Profhilo treatment?
As with any injectable there are minor risks including redness, bruising and swelling, as well as infection, allergic reaction, vascular compromise and nerve damage; although IBSA claims these are rare.
Is there any Profhilo aftercare to consider?
Most people continue their normal daily activities after treatment. Recommended aftercare advice includes - Do not touch the treatment area for 4 hours. Do not apply makeup for 12 hours. Avoid vigorous exercise for 24-48 hours after treatment. Do not drink alcohol for 24 hours.
How many treatments of Profhilo will I require?
The full treatment consists of two sessions, one month apart. A further session may be recommended after approximately six months in order to prolong the effect.
How quickly can I expect to see improvements?
After four weeks patients reported having improvement in lines and tightness of their skin. After eight weeks there was a definite lifting and tightening of the skin.
